Fees and charges
Charges are made on the basis of time required for consultation and assessments. This includes analysing test scores and report writing. Fees are subject to change without notice. By using the services provided you agree to the consultation and assessment charges. All children are different and we are happy to discuss the services on offer to provide you with the most relevant service
Initial consultation
Birth - 2 years
Consultations last up to 45 minutes and include neurological examination; clinic letters will include recommendation for further standardised assessment or ongoing follow-up for neurodevelopmental surveillance if relevant.

General Movement Assessment (GMA)
3 - 4 months only
Standardised test of baby's movement - includes Motor Optimality Score (MOS)

Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development (BSID) assessment - the gold standard assessment tool for toddlers (approximately 60 - 90 minutes); includes comprehensive written report and recommendations

You may wish to choose one of the services above as stand-alone assessments depending on your child's age and needs, or you may prefer to opt for a combination of assessments or a follow-up service which covers the first two years. Please contact i-can-development for plan fees
Baby Plan
General Movement Assessment (with MOS) + Initial consultation (includes neurological examination) + standardised neurodevelopmental assessment
For ages 3-4 months only
First Year Plan
Initial appointment + Neonatal follow-up appointment during the first year of life + standardised neurodevelopmental assessment at age 1 year (excludes GMA)
Standard 2 year Plan
Neurodevelopmental follow-up from Birth - 2 years. Includes initial appointment + 2 x follow-up appointments in the first year and standardised neurodevelopmental assessments at 1 year and 2 years of age (excludes GMA)
Full Birth - 2 year Plan
Comprehensive neurodevelopmental follow-up from Birth - 2 years. Includes GMA + initial appointment + 2 x follow-up appointments in the first year, 1 x follow-up in second year and standardised neurodevelopmental assessments at 1 year and 2 years of age
Additional charges
£50 / enquiry (email / letter / phone call)
Extra administration relating to queries arising from consultation / assessment / report (eg request for additional report) or provision of information for / referral to other health professionals.
£150 / hour
Charge for additional clinical administration, report writing, professional liaison not covered in consultation / assessment fee.

Payment
Payment is accepted from self-funding patients and via some private health insurance.
Self-funding
Full payment is required for self-funding patients and should be made by BACS transfer, 48 hours before the appointment.
Private Health insurance
Some private health insurance companies do not cover the full costs of neurodevelopmental assessment or have conditions associated. You are therefore advised to check the level of cover provided by your health insurance policy before booking an appointment. Please note that Dr O'Brien is not registered with all insurance companies and you are responsible for any shortfall in fees not covered by your insurance company.
Terms and conditions
I-CAN-development is the trading name of the Neurodevelopment Service provided by Dr Frances O'Brien.
Cancellation
Please note that at least 48 hours’ notice is required for the cancellation of all appointments. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a charge of £110. On-the-day cancellations or failing to attend an appointment, will incur a charge equivalent to the full fee (under exceptional circumstances this may be waived in part).
Outstanding accounts
Further treatment will only be offered at the discretion of I-CAN-development for any patients who have outstanding accounts.
